Penny Auctions
Penny Auctions (aka “bidding fee auctions” according to Wikipedia) are sites that allow bidders to place micro-bids (pennies) on products where time is added to the auction (seconds) after each bid. Many websites started up between 2010 and 2013 with this model and few have succeeded. In fact, it appears that all of them will fall as only two appear to be left. See this article about penny auctions.
